... and the IFU Awards 2016 go to: CFT S.p.A. and Bucher Unipektin AG!

Both companies have been awarded for their innovation and their outstanding contribution towards the fruit and vegetable juice industry.

The IFU (International Fruit and Vegetable Juice Association) has awarded two companies for their outstanding input for the juice industry: CFT S.p.A. received the “IFU Award for Innovation” for their Zenith technology, Bucher Unipektin received the “IFU Award for Significant Contribution” for their long standing active support of the juice industry. Both awards were presented during this years` Juice Summit Gala Dinner in Antwerp, Belgium.

IFU announced earlier this year the re-introduction of their annual innovation and significant contribution awards and has received several excellent nominations. Each one worthy of being a winner made the task of the executive committee tough in deciding the final winners. Finally, the awards could be presented at the Gala Dinner of the Juice Summit held at De Zuiderkroon on the 12th October, 2016. They were introduced by Maria Schlaffer (Marketing Director) and John Collins (Executive Director) and presented by IFU Vice-President Kees Cools.

The “IFU Award for Innovation” was awarded to CFT S.p.A. CFT started in 1945 and has been associated with developments and innovation ever since. Their Zenith technology involves anaerobic cold extraction of fruit and vegetable purees and the ultrafast deactivation of enzymes. The award was accepted by Mario Gozzi, Sales Manager and Fabio Tedeschi, R&D Manager.

The “Award for Significant Contribution” was awarded to Bucher Unipektin AG for their long standing active support for the juice industry, associations, summits, workshops and seminars. Bucher Unipektin has provided expertise and experience in the development and manufacture of technically sophisticated individual machines and turn-key lines for fruit juice manufacturing for over 200 years. For the IFU, they have provided 2 past presidents as well as senior managers to work in the various commissions. The IFU not only recognises and honours the company, but their colleagues as well. The award was received by Hartmut Haverland, Managing Director.

Details about how to nominate individual persons, associations or companies for the 2017 Awards will be announced in spring 2017.
